Promoting a Culture of Learning
At JMV, we strongly believe in a culture of education. First and foremost, our priority is to provide in-depth training to our technical staff and sales team. Additionally, JMV makes it a point to organise different seminars and training courses specifically aimed towards professionals in the building industry. Primarily, these courses are aimed at educating applicators and contractors on:

Introducing innovative products to the local market
2017 was indeed a busy year for ISOMAT and JMV! On November 2nd 2017, ISOMAT and JMV organized a seminar on decorative microcement applications. Although it has been used in Europe for over 20 years, it has only recently been introduced in Malta and has quickly become widely sought after for its unique aesthetic effect.
The seminar was an intense 3-hour presentation, whereby technical representatives from ISOMAT headquarters in Greece, provided useful theoretical information about the microcement product range, followed by a demonstration of the application technique to be used with the products.
The fruitful benefits of hands-on training
In order to make the seminar more interesting for attendees, a number of sample materials were made available and attendees were encouraged to experiment and practice their skills on such sample boards. The feedback receive was very positive, and the seminar was well-received by those in attendance. Moreover, attendees agreed that such opportunities gave them the chance to voice their concerns, practice application methods, and most importantly, perfect the service offered – before actually taking on the job and going on site!
Taking it a step further
Earlier in 2017, JMV also invited 3 prominent local clients (contractors) to take part in a specialized 3-day training course at the ISOMAT headquarters in Thessaloniki, Greece. The contractors, who showed great interest in receiving further training and specialization in their trade, were supported and endorsed by JMV to receive such training.
The first day commenced with a tour of the ISOMAT manufacturing facility and their Research and Development laboratories. Apart from appreciating and understanding the scale of the manufacturing and storage capacity of the facility, contractors were also educated on the rigorous and exhaustive testing carried out, to ensure all products meet the technical specifications cited on the product packaging.
Training was then given on some of the more specialized applications such as:
- Waterproofing
- Industrial floorings
- Decorative applications
The format of the training was designed in such a way that it allowed contractors to learn firsthand about the theoretical background of the products, their technical specifications, as well as discuss different case studies on the topic. This was followed by a hands-on interactive session showcasing the proper application of products.
This type of approach was adopted to give attendants a holistic overview of the products, which when combined with a more practical session on the product’s application, gives more meaning and added value to the attendees.
All 3 contractors were very satisfied with the way training was conducted and the positive impact this experience would have on the services they offer. A certificate of attendance was given to all participants of this training, giving them a competitive edge within the local market.
